Rogers, AR, July 24, 2017 (Newswire.com) - Highlands Oncology Group, Northwest Arkansas’ leading cancer treatment facility, will welcome Sarah W. Jewell, M.D., to the dedicated team of medical professionals on July 24.
Dr. Jewell completed medical school at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) in Little Rock. She completed her residency in 2014 at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis and subsequently completed a fellowship in hematology/oncology at UAMS.
Dr. Jewell is certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Society of Hematology. She married her high school sweetheart and they have three young boys. The family enjoys the outdoors, camping and attending Razorback football games.
In 2017, there will be an estimated 1,688,780 new cancer cases diagnosed and 600,920 cancer deaths in the United States, according to the American Cancer Society. As such, continued research and treatment advancement is imperative.
