John Oates Featuring David Starr Coming to Fayetteville, Arkansas

Acoustic Concert on Nov. 15 will Benefit Broyles Foundation

An exclusive, acoustic concert with Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member John Oates featuring songwriter David Starr will take place on Nov. 15 at 7 p.m. at the Starr Theater in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Proceeds will benefit the Frank & Barbara Broyles Legacy Foundation, a local organization on the front lines of the fight against Alzheimer’s disease. “The foundation is committed to providing support and resources for both professional and family caregivers,” said Betsy Broyles Arnold, CEO. “I’ve lost both of my parents to Alzheimer’s. Every day is an opportunity to honor their memory and share with others what I’ve learned.”

Tickets are $75 and available now.

“My family has been personally affected by Alzheimer’s and dementia. It is important to me to be involved and try to help reduce the effects of and eradicate this insidious disease,” Oates said.

“My family has been directly touched by Alzheimer’s disease,” Starr added. “My father and younger cousin both suffered with the illness and I saw firsthand the toll it takes on not only the individual with the disease but the tremendous hardship imposed on family caregivers. The Broyles Foundation is doing great work to support caregivers and I really felt strongly about getting involved. It is my hope that by bringing the issue to the forefront with this show, we can raise both money and awareness to help the Foundation support caregivers and families of Alzheimer’s sufferers.”

Oates will release a new album, titled Arkansas, in March. Starr is an Arkansas native who now resides in Cedaredge, Colorado. Oates produced Starr’s latest EP, The Head and Heart.
