Highlands Oncology Group Continues to Grow

Chris M. McClinton, Radiation Oncologist, joins Highlands Oncology Group

Highlands Oncology Group, Northwest Arkansas’ leading cancer treatment facility, will welcome Chris M. McClinton, M.D., to their dedicated team on July 17. Dr. McClinton will join Highlands as a Radiation Oncologist.

Dr. McClinton completed medical school at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) in Little Rock. Subsequently, he completed a residency in radiation oncology at the University of Kansas Medical Center.


Outside of medical practice, Dr. McClinton enjoys spending time with his wife, two kids, and German Shepherd. He also enjoys Razorback athletics, fishing and working on engines.

In 2017, there will be an estimated 1,688,780 new cancer cases diagnosed and 600,920 cancer deaths in the United States, according to the American Cancer Society.

Approximately 39.6 percent of men and women will be diagnosed with cancer at some point during their lifetimes, according to National Cancer Institute statistics. National expenditures for cancer care in the United States totaled nearly 125 billion dollars in 2010 and could reach 156 billion dollars in 2020.

As such, continued research and treatment advancement is imperative.
