FORT SMITH, Ark., March 6, 2018 (Newswire.com) - Sara Allen, a Registered Dental Hygienist at River Valley Smile Center, a leading dental practice in Fort Smith, Arkansas, recently traveled to Orphanage Emmanuel in Guaimaca, Honduras, to provide much-needed dental service. Several dental teams in the river valley region have traveled to Orphanage Emmanuel to provide cleanings and restorative services to children, staff and volunteers.
A privately-funded, Christian organization whose vision is to evangelize and disciple children, Orphanage Emmanuel began in 1989, without electricity or running water, to house and serve the initial five children. The organization has continued to grow and now cares for more than 500 unwanted, abandoned and/or abused children, of all ages, with housing facilities, dining halls, a bakery, a church, an on-site medical and dental clinic and more.
Allen has been a dedicated Registered Dental Hygienist for more than 15 years. She is a native of Fort Smith and earned an Associates Degree in Dental Hygiene at the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith. She takes pride in her work and strives to provide gentle care for her patients in a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere. Allen considers it a privilege to use her skills to extend care to those who may not otherwise have the opportunity to receive dental services.
