Center for Chest Care Supervisor Spoke at Conference in Washington, D.C.

Joanna Thompson Spoke at Lung Cancer Alliance Screening and Care Conference.

Joanna Thompson, supervisor of the Center for Chest Care and the NWA Lung Cancer Screening Program, spoke in October at The Lung Cancer Alliance Screening and Care Conference in Washington, DC.

The Lung Cancer Alliance is the only national non-profit organization dedicated to patient support and advocacy for people living with, and people at risk for, lung cancer. The purpose of the conference is to provide a platform where lung cancer screening groups can collaborate on how to improve screening and awareness programs for the at-risk population.

Thompson spoke about the Center for Chest Care and the NWA Lung Cancer Screening Program and was able to share her experience with conference participants.

“It is so encouraging to see light being shed on this disease at a national level,” Thompson said. “I believe positive things for lung cancer patients and those at risk for lung cancer will come from this conference on a national, state and community level.”

The Center for Chest Care is comprised of Highlands Oncology Group (HOG), MANA, Cardiovascular Surgical Associates of NWA and Hope Cancer Resources.
