Brent Medders, Owner of 26 Domino's Pizza Stores, Twice Featured on the 'Shrimp Tank' Podcast
LITTLE ROCK, Ark., March 26, 2019 (Newswire.com) - Brent Medders, an Arkansas Domino’s Pizza store franchise owner, was recently featured on business and entrepreneurial podcast the Shrimp Tank, which focuses on teaching young entrepreneurs the skills and knowledge to operate successful businesses, for the second time. In the most recent episode, Medders discussed enacting a cultural change throughout his franchise.
While providing delicious food is an important goal of Medders, he recently enacted an organizational priority of ensuring store visitors are treated respectfully and as friends and neighbors, rather than customers, first.
“To this day, we don’t have customers,” said Medders. “We have friends. And that’s the way we refer to them at our company.”
Medders built his career from the ground up, beginning as a pizza deliverer while a college student: now owning and operating dozens of stores. He has lived in Arkansas for more than 20 years and is passionate about developing community-centric Domino’s Pizza stores throughout Northwest Arkansas, the River Valley and Central Arkansas.
“We had to make a case for change and make sure everybody understood why we needed to change before we even began to go down that road,” said Medders, while discussing organizational change on Shrimp Tank. “We needed to cast our vision and do it in a way that everybody clearly understood and follow that up by giving them the skills and resources that they need. We also wanted to make sure that we had incentives in place for people to be rewarded for following this process.”
The Shrimp Tank is a podcast which presents interviews with some of the most successful business owners in the United States, with the purpose of helping listeners learn the dos and don’ts of starting and running successful businesses, according to their website.
